It goes on like a fitted sheet, sits under your sheets, and keeps spills, sweat, and accidents off the top sleeping surface of the mattress. All-around elastic and stretch pockets hold mattresses 8 to 20 inches deep, covering thin guest-room mattresses to thick pillow tops. Depth is the most common sizing mistake in this category, so measure from the top of the mattress down to the base before ordering. The rayon-blend top feels like fabric rather than plastic sheeting, so your sheets feel the same over it. It stays quiet when you turn over, without the crinkle that makes some protectors impossible to sleep on. Machine wash cold, tumble dry low, wash separately on a gentle cycle, and use non-chlorine bleach only if needed.
