Located just north of LAX, Kohl’s Westchester sits on a busy stretch where Sepulveda Boulevard – not to be confused with Sepulveda Westway, which runs parallel to the store’s rear on the west – cuts across La Tijera Boulevard. The major thoroughfares create easy access for neighboring Playa Del Rey, Inglewood, El Segundo, Playa Vista, Culver City and beyond.

As a neighborhood, Westchester’s development is directly tied to the growth of LAX and the region’s aerospace boom, first producing planes for World War II and then passenger jets afterward. The southwestern L.A. neighborhood is now a desirable neighborhood for workers who commute to so-called Silicon Beach, home to companies such as Snap, Hulu, Tinder and Dollar Shave Club.

Westchester was also a boyhood home of Phil Hartman. The unforgettable and impossibly talented “Saturday Night Live” and “NewsRadio” star, who lent his considerable voice talents to “The Simpsons” and appeared in hundreds of other projects that were all better for his inclusion, attended Westchester High School. The school is just a short drive west from Kohl’s on Manchester Avenue.
