Rated 2 out of 5 by from definitely not a black out curtain These curtains are definitely not room darkening or black out curtains. They are a thinner material and they do let some light through. Probably not noise canceling or energy efficient, but they are still a nice set of curtains. I would still recommend these to a friend, only if they are not looking for black out and/or energy efficient curtains.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from exactly what it says I purchased these for our master bedrom, we have a street light behind our home that shines right into our room. These definately block out MOST of the light! The quality is very nice for the price and they launder well. Blackout, NO, room darkening YES!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not a blackout curtain I do think it filters some light but most curtains will do that. I can definitely see light shine through the curtains and it is not as thick as it would seem in the pictures. As for noise reduction and energy efficient? Probably not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Curtains! Blackout versus Room Darkening This is a nice set of ROOM DARKENING curtains. There is a difference between ROOM DARKENING and BLACKOUT curtains. If you don't want any type of light filtering in, then you look for BLACKOUT curtains. If you're okay with a little bit of filtered light, then you get ROOM DARKENING curtains.
