Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get rid of the squeak!!! They make it seem as though you are walking on a cushion of air and are very easy on your knees. My shoes squeaked as well. Carefully take out the insole and sprinkle some baby powder in the bottom of the shoe...being sure to get some powder under where the ball of your foot rests. Then reinsert the insole. Instant quiet!!!! I wear a 12 in all other brands but must have a 13 in this brand. I have purchased and worn out about 10 pairs. All of the left foot shoes have been a bit short and my middle toes hit the end shoe. I will see if size 14 will work better during my next purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Squeaky Shoes Got a pair of Air Monarchs about a week after Christmas. By February I couldn't stand it any longer. The shoes were squeaking so much that people knew I was coming and they'd say "here comes the IT guy" at work. So I contacted Nike, sent back the shoes. Turns out this must be a major quality concern for Nike because if you search on google for 'nike air monarch squeak' you'll discover that this is a BIG problem. Don't buy these shoes if you're a jewel thief, you'll get caught. Something inside the soles are giving out. But, on the flip side, they were extremely comfortable. Glad I got rid of these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from squeek Poor rating because of the squeek !!!!!!! These are the most comfortable shoes when you walk a lot or on your feet BUT after a short time they squeek and it is pretty embarassing and annoying!! Nike should really fix this probably because what I see on reviews -- I am not the only one that says these are the most comfortable shoes but will not buy them again because this is the 2nd pair I have bought and the first pair squeeked but thought maybe it was just an unusual thing but seems it is pretty much what everyone experiences. NIKE fix this squeek so we can have our comfort back!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from squeaky comfort I had an old pair of Monarchs that fit great and lasted a long time. I think they were pre-monarch III. I couldn't find a Monarch III that fit right. I'm a 2E width, but can sometimes go with a D width 1/2 size bigger. The Monarch IV seemed to work better. Though no 2E width, I was able to upsize and find comfort finally! My only complaint, which I see dominates the reviews, is the squeak this shoe has developed. It has become quite annoying and I'm reluctant to wear them in my office environment now. I'm curious if this could be considered a flaw in workmanship that would allow a return of product?
