Best can opener - EVER!
I would never call myself a person who would get excited over a can opener but after purchasing one after the other and them all being worthless, this one is something to get excited about. It simply works, easy, easy. Re the complaints on the magnet not sure what their problem is, it works perfect for me. I'm an over 65 person and I have purchased many can openers in my adulthood so I certainly am qualified to make this statement!
Try it, you will love it. We bought the red which is not only pretty but easy to find in a drawer.

RUSTED!
HAVE HAD THIS A COUPLE YEARS, JUST THREW AWAY TONIGHT....LOOKS GREAT, WORKS GREAT BUT FULL OF RUST?????WHAT HAPPENED TO KITCHEN AID? TRIED WASHING RUST OFF, JUST GOT WORSE ..LEFT RUST ALL OVER MY DRYING MATT AND RUINED IT!

BESTAND SAFEST CAN OPENER I'VE EVER HAD!
What a relief to finally have a can opener that works efficiently! I've gone thru years struggling with can openers that work part way and leave areas of the lid uncut, and I have to carefully use a knife to pry open the lid and then use a spoon to reach inside and take out the contents. Years ago my finger was cut to the bone by the sharp edge of a tin can lid, which makes me very nervous with using can openers. The ratings were good on this KitchenAid can opener so I decided to treat myself to a new one. I am very pleased and delighted with this can opener. I feel safe using it and it does a good job of cutting and opening the complete lid on the can.

This can opener is cheaply made!
I got this can opener to replace a Swing-a-way manual can opener that I'd had for at least 25 years and had finally worn out. With the Kitchenaid name and good reviews, I thought that the new one would last at least a few years. However, in less than two years, the gears stripped and all it can do is "click" a can open, which I have to do around the entire can lid since the gears don't work. I am NOT impressed and am getting a different, well recommended brand that is made better than this cheap piece of work.
