Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Winner The African Plains puzzle is a favorite of my daughters. It is listed as 3+ yo, but I think this is conservative and at 2 1/2 she has no problems with it. She will count then name all the animals in the picture before dumping it out. She then stares at the picture on the back of the frame, actually studying it. This puzzle is very well made, the fit and finish being very high quality. I can also recommend the 24 piece dinosaur and 24 piece sea life puzzles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have... My 2 year old loves puzzles. We started off with the ones with the shapes cut out. About a month ago, I saw this puzzle at Kohls and got it thinking it was probably a little too old for her but she loves animals and she might like it. Well, she loved it. It took her not even a week before she could put this puzzle together by herself, placing the pieces where they should go without the borders or other pieces. I was impressed so much I went back and got another one plus a 48 piece. She loves them all. She is doing the 48 piece with me but she can put the bulk of it together herself, at 2. Love these puzzles! Plus they are sturdy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 23 month old loves this too As I said, my son is 23 months and he LOVES this puzzle. He is obsessed with animals and puzzles so I bought him this for his 2nd birthday, but couldn't resist giving it to him early. He can't work it out on his own yet but loves to play it together and try. He just loves playing with all the pieces and saying the animal names. It's a great puzzle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed parent Our 3-year old received two 24-piece wooden puzzles for her 3rd birthday. She loves puzzles and is quite adept at several cardboard puzzles of this same complexity. The problem with both Melissa and Doug puzzles she received is the fit between pieces is too tight. You really have to wedge the pieces in which is difficult for a 3yr old. Because of this, the image has begun to lIft from the wood backing on several pieces AFTER ONE USE. Although they look great before use, we're very disappointed with the quality and finish of these puzzles.
