Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's a cheap waffle maker It's a cheap waffle maker. Lightweight, not even enough metal to provide good heat distribution. High heat will burn your waffle, low heat will take forever. Drip tray is too small, expect over-runs onto the counter and down into the joints of the base pieces. The grids are as-cast rough, so the non-stick coating barely helps. Waffles tear apart while trying to remove them. And that's with oiling the grids first! Great waffle maker for the masochist. I should see if they will take it back....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'm in waffle heaven Let's start saying: I LOVE BELGIAN WAFFLES. So this waffle maker is perfect for me and my family. It works great -- it's fast and makes delicious waffles. It takes making a few waffles to figure it out but I think that's true for most appliances. I used butter when I put the batter for the first waffle, and that was enough for the whole batch. I didn't need to grease the plates again. Cleaning it right out of the box was difficult as it doesn't come apart but you don't want to eat China factory dust with your breakfast. After that, cleaning is easy -- just wipe it down with a paper towel. My only concern is that I had to set it almost to the max heat to get a crispy waffle (not even dark). I hope it lasts, I love it so much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Revised Directions We loved the output quality of the waffle maker, but it's really a Belgian waffle maker which is different! The directions say to put in 1/3 cup of batter. That won't do. You need to fill this til it's almost reaching the edge and you'll end up with a beautiful, fluffy, high belgian waffle - so much nicer than regular waffles. I had a spill-over with too much batter put in it, so it's just a matter of trial and error. And, it's fast! I've used regular pancake mix (just add water) according to directions with adding oil for waffle batter and I've done it without adding any oil and I got great results both ways.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great With Box Pancake Mixes Our kids love waffles, so I purchased this waffle maker last year! It's still working great. I skip the step of making them from scratch. Both box brands (HJ & AM) of pancake mix work great in this waffle maker. Just make sure you follow the recipe on the box for waffles! (I haven't tried the "complete" pancake mix.) Get the traditional pancake mix where you add an egg, milk and oil. Order it now while there's a rebate! You won't be disappointed!
