Many possibilities for this product.
Received my food dehydrator and started immediately with the abundance of grape tomatoes. Previously done in the oven, I was looking for something that would take less time. So far, seems less, but not by as much as I had hoped. The outcome is a bit better with more even drying. The possibilities are wide open on this one. While it's great to have many possibilities, the Recipe & Instruction book needs to be read and highlighted like a textbook! Many details to make note of and not as much specific direction for the novice like myself. Trial by dehydration I suppose can be fun!? LOL. While I was looking for a faster method to my "sun-dried" grape tomatoes, this may not be the case, i.e., Tomatoes 6-12 hrs. The book says a lot about ranges of drying time, but I would have much preferred a timer on the unit, and a set time to dry an item with the ability to have the unit shut off. Maybe that's just the novice again, as it says that you have to keep checking toward the end of the drying process. I hope my electric bill doesn't go too high, but more healthy foods are a plus! Not a lot about storing the dried items, but a recommendation to get a 'home vacuum packaging device', helps to extend the shelf life. I won't do that right now, but I'll try bags, jars, freezer as noted. No on/off switch, so plug and unplug. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase and I'm looking forward to experimenting with all sorts of things. Many possibilities!

very pleased with first dehydrator
The plastic is questionable as far as quality, but I didn't pay very much for it. Considering the price and the way it works, it is most excellent. It dehydrates apples flawlessly, and rotating the trays during the process is making the dehydration perfect for eating/storing. I am finding that the lower, longer time setting and rotating the trays every few hours makes this purchase very satisfactory. My son will only eat fruit that is dehydrated, I was concerned that he would not like my fruit since it is not covered in sugar like the store bought dehydrated fruit, but he loves it!

This food dehydrator works fast on meat and veggie
I bought two of these and with the garden in full swing they have both been going pretty much non stop for a month now, and both are doing great in my opinion. They seem to work fast and clean up is easy.

I am very pleased with my Nesco Professional food dehydrator it is very quiet and with 700 watts I can complete the process in one day. I am trying to work on having a more healthy diet and now I can make my own healthy snacks. Thank you Nesco and thank you Kohls, I will shop Kohls again, they are wonderful to deal with.
