Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not so great I work in a meat room where slip resistance is very important. I've use quite a few pair of the TX model, and they are much better when it comes to not sliding all over. Secondly, it is much easier to clean the soles of the TX models with a stiff brush. The soles of the Harrington II's trap little pieces of meat and I have to dig them out with an old nail file. If I don't do this, the shoes will eventually smell horrible. These shoes are comfortable, but they are not convenient. Too bad, I liked the older model much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality has dropped and the Soles Fall off I am writing this review after giving the shoe 3 separate chances after the quality started to drop as they have been some of the more comfortable work shoes out there. The first pair after 8 years of buying them to go down hill had the sole start to fall off in 2 weeks. The pair I received for an exchange had the metal button fall out for the laces. Unhappy and hoping it was a bat lot of shoes I was getting in my area I gave it 4 months before purchasing the next pair. I am now 30 days in and the soles are again falling off. This issue needs to be corrected if you want to keep people happy. The shoes themselves are very comfortable, like walking on clouds but the need to purchase a new pair every few weeks far outweighs the comfort factor that they offer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Old design was better I have bought 3 pairs of Harrington blacks, and unfortunately, the newest pair has a different outsole that is significantly less comfortable. The easiest way to tell if its the old design or the new design, is that the old design had yellow parts on the outsole and the new design is only black. Additionally the new design can be described a a grid of squares. I have attached a photo of the two designs. I do a lot of squatting at my job and end up putting my weight onto the "ball" section of my feet, and the new pair manages to be less comfortable them the worn out old pair that I replaced. What is perhaps most infuriating about this is that the new design and old design are the same product. I have the box from the old pair and it has the same UPC and model number as the box from the new pair. What this means is that when I was looking for a new pair, I had to open every box and check the bottoms because there are still some pairs out there on the shelves that have the good design. Unfortunately all of them were in sizes that were way too big. My only complaint about the old design is that the laces have a tendency to wear out before the soles do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product at a more than reasonable price This is about the 10th pair I've had of these over the years, usually purchase in "pairs of pairs", one black, one brown. I could be delusional but I swear the brown ones always seem to be just a tiny bit more narrow in the forefoot than the black pairs. Not going to stop me from buying them, though. Also, my most recent purchases of these, this brown pair another black pair at a store, I noticed and appreciate the design change to the sole, used to be a deep tire tread like sole, this is more like square nubs that provide excellent gripping action without getting caught on carpets like some other slip-resistant sole.
