Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cast iron skillet has very ROUGH surfaces After following the instructions for preparation of the iron skillet, I found 2 issues with the skillet. 1) the bottom of the skillet was VERY ROUGH which could scratch my stove and countertop surfaces. 2) from the 1st use, after wiping out the remaining stuff from cooking, I couldn't get all of the food off. I followed the instructions and used salt to try to scrape the remaining food out, but it was EXTREMELY difficult. I then put the pan on the counter and it came in contact with a FEW DROPS OF WATER - causing it to immediately rust!!! I would not cook with a pot that can generate RUST SO QUICKLY and easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Fashioned but Great Sometimes you just have to use the old fashioned iron skillet to cook. Easy to use and clean. Makes for one pot cooking when you have to finish a dish in oven.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great smaller-sized Cast Iron Skillet Have had a much bigger, older and seasoned skillet, but wanted a smaller one. Even though it says it is seasoned, rub vegetable oil on the inside anyway. AND after you use it, paper towel out any food left and re-season it again. The trick is keeping it dry. If you traditionally wash it in soap/water, it will rust. Cast iron pans are of a different breed when it comes to cooking and maintenance (IMO !)
