Rated 2 out of 5 by from A few things missing My son LOVES playing with this cash register, but it is difficult to use as a learning device. If he messes up with an amount to enter, the entire transaction must be re-entered (we have items that are labeled for sale and he enters the price in the register, then tells me how much I spent). It also allows him to enter non-cash amounts ($5.6742349857), which confuses him with the end price. I love the idea, but the key pad is a very basic calculator that has little to do with the fact he's supposed to be learning about money. I would not buy this cash register again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wouldn't recommend this toy I loved that it wasn't battery powered, that it was a real calculator and money was big enough not to be a choking hazard. In other words, good for several ages. I'm a day care provider and have children of different ages, so this appealed to me. However, I was disappointed to find that the paper money slots aren't sloped, so none of us finds it easy to get it in and out. I've ended up just using the coins because the paper money slots are frustrating. I would have returned it to you, but didn't want the hassle of wrapping and paying for postage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I've had similar models of this register in classrooms (Head Start Director) and typically love these products. So when my 4 year old son wanted this for Christmas, I was more than happy to oblige! Unfortunately, it's pretty awful. Unless the "solar strip" has a flashlight shining directly into it or the register is tilted towards the sky (light), the calculator doesn't work at all. Needless to say, this was a bust and my kids are pretty upset that it doesn't work, as am I.
