Great Sturdy Grinder
This is a sturdy, mostly stainless steel grinder. It grinds quickly, quietly and cleanly. The 2 small and 1 large containers are perfectly sized and have plastic covers that keep the ground spices or coffee from splattering all over the grinder. This makes the grinding experience very clean. I have had other highly rated grinders before but this one is head and shoulders above those.

Best blade grinder
I have had 4 other grinders ( 3 blade type and one burr type ) and this is the best by far. Detachable cups make cleaning and pouring easy. I found grinding about 1/2 the cup capacity at a time works best. Burr grinders give more flexibility on type of grind but cost more and are much harder to clean.

Used as a spice grinder
I bought this one because it came with multiple grinding cups. The 4oz cup works great. It is tall so the plastic top seals and holds it in place while grinding. The 2oz cups need to have the plastic caps on them or the spices fly right out (I should have read the directions first). After adding the lid and trying again, the 2oz cups just get "spun" right out of place (even though they were locked in). I ground up coriander seeds in the 4oz cup, and it worked well, I probably let it run for about a minute. The blades are in each cup and are difficult to hand wash around, but they are dishwasher safe. If you put a lot of spices in, the ones on the bottom get fine, while the ones on top are more coarse. Small batches work best, but it does get a bit caked up on the bottom. Nothing a little tap to the metal doesn't loosen (I wouldn't tap it on the plastic bottom though).

pretty good grinder
It grinds coffee really well, I'm very happy with that part. I used the smaller cup for grinding cinnamon sticks. it doesn't quite grind all the cinnamon to a powder and you have to push and hold the top for quite a while to get the cinnamon to almost where you want it. But then again, as hard as cinnamon sticks are I am asking a lot from this thing. Over all, it does what it is supposed to do, which makes me happy & It is perfect size, not to big, not too small . I'm just a little disappointed that the bottom of the cups and the inner part of the grinder housing is plastic along with the top. I expected better from kitchen aid. But I have to remember, Nothing is built to last anymore. I do think it will hold up for quite a while if it is well taken care of. I am glad I bought this. I love it!
