Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not liking the changes made I have been wearing 501 Shrink to Fit sense i was 5 years old i am now 58 years old. I just bought a couple of pair and i noticed they were much thinner and no more double stitching on the inseam and the hem on bottom legs were much shorter. The fit is also not the same as they have been in the past. I think it is because levi has decided to sacrifice quality over profit margins and corporate greed .It is too bad to see such an icon go down this path. If I can get the old quality i would gladly pay for it. PS is there still some old style 501 shrink to fit, if so i would like to buy them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fabric is thin and after washing there are creases everywhere The first issue is the fabric: it is way too thin with respect to what i was used even 5 or 6 years ago. I understand Levi's changes some details of the 501 every now and then (it always did look at their LVC line) but going thinner and cheaper on the fabric it's a poor marketing choice from all angles. Second, this has been pointed out by others too: after washing on a gentle 40°C cycle there are white creases running down the front and the back of the jeans. I guess it is a consequence of the thinner cotton used? This pair is ruined and will need to get a new one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will be changing to another brand Been wearing 501 shrink to fit since 1972, long before they were trendy, and they only came in one color. I dont wear these for style I wear them because they fit and they last for years, at least they used to. Just bought my last pair a while back. New narrow hem lets pants curl up at hem, stitching is lower quality. denim is definitely lighter weight, one wash and they felt like they had been washed 20 times! I guess the only people that would notice are the over 50 crowd, and Levis doesn't want our money anymore! Goodbye levis, am going to Carharts

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Why change what's not broken? I'm a small town, blue collar guy that wears his jeans for work and play, and semi casual attire. I wear 501 STF and Wranglers almost exclusively. I have owned quite a few pairs of 501 STF. These were not marked 501XX, which may be the reasoning for my issues with the product, but I was surprised to see that the inseam no longer is double stitched like my older pairs, and the hem is much narrower. I doubt it will be a big deal in terms of quality, but it just looks a little "off" compared to what I expect out of my 501s and jeans in general. Had it not been for this, it would get a 5 star rating. Fit is still on, denim weight and look still seems good for the price tag.
