Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value but... We enjoyed this coffee grinder for just over a hear. It's noisy, so we usually ground the coffee the night before to avoid waking late sleepers in the morning. It worked fine until this morning when I refilled the hopper and hit the start switch. It started but nothing came out. Smoke came out of the bottom, and I unplugged it. Not sure what happened, but the upshot is that I have to buy another grinder. I hesitate to be too negative about this unit, because it worked so well until today. I'm not sure what went wrong. I kept it clean and did not mistreat it. Might be that mine was flawed. I just wish the flaw had become evident before the warranty expired.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beans slip through grinder When I put the amount of beans needed for 4 cups of coffee I notice that some beans are "stuck" inside the open area before it grinds the coffee. As a result I have to restart the grinder a couple more time to help insure I get them all ground. After I throw them in my drip coffeemaker I notice when I'm disposing of the grinds that a whole bean or two may have slipped through. I deliberately try not to put in any extra beans than I need since I wish to keep them stored in a seal tight canister in my cupboard. this way I can place the entire amount in my coffeemaker. For the money it is probably the cheapest burr grinder you can find around. If you are willing to put up with this repeated grinding then this model is okay. On the plus side it will brew a strong amount so I would suggest experimenting with the amount of beans you use to adjust the brew to your liking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, convenient, contemporary Having used only rotary blade bean grinders in the past, I was more than ready to upgrade to a burr grinder. The only thing holding me back was the cost. Burr grinders can be expensive. When I saw this product on the shelf at Kohl's, I gave it a good once over -- could a burr grinder in this price range stand up to daily use? It appeared to be sturdy, easy to clean and easy to use. Now that I have it in my home, I have found that it is, indeed, the product I hoped it to be. The two features I most appreciate: I can choose the size of the grind from 18 different settings, and I can select how much coffee to grind by the number of cups I will be brewing. I am glad that I purchased this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from it works! We like the grinder. It replaced the same one we had for about 6 years. It seems like it is louder than the old one. Maybe just cause it is new.
