We try very hard to accurately predict and meet the demand for popular items. However, there are certain items during the holiday season and throughout the year where the demand far exceeds the availability.
These Limited Availability Items sell out on Kohls.com extremely quickly; often almost immediately. Unfortunately, this means that at times we have to cancel orders that were completed after the item was already sold out. This is not something we want to do and not the experience we want our valued customers to have. We are always finding and implementing improvements to our Kohls.com inventory systems.
Frequently Asked Questions about Limited Availability Items
Q: My order/item was canceled. Why am I still showing a charge for the full amount of the item on my billing statement?
A: While you may still see a charge for the full order amount, this is only a temporary, pending charge. We only charge you for items once they ship from our fulfillment center. When an order is placed into our system, we put a temporary charge for the full amount. You should expect to see the charge fall off from your account in an average of seven days. If there were other items in your order that did ship, you will be charged a new amount once those items ship.
Q: I placed several orders. Why were they canceled?
A: These Limited Availability Items are very limited in quantity. Therefore these items are limited to ONE (1) per household. Kohl’s reserves the right to cancel any duplicate orders placed to the same household/ address. With the limited quantity and high demand, we want to ensure as many households as possible can get and enjoy these items.
Q: My order was not canceled, but the tracking information I received still shows the shipment is “In Fulfillment”. Can you tell me when and if I will still receive my item/order?
A: While we hate to have to cancel these items from an order, we try to let customers know as soon as possible when an item is oversold and canceled. If you received a tracking number, your items have been processed and shipped from our fulfillment center. During certain times of the year, especially surrounding the Christmas season, shipping through 3rd party carriers such as FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc., can be delayed due to the significant increase in shipments from online orders. During these busy shipping times, we can see instances where a tracking number doesn’t show any movement until the package has arrived at your local post office, or even after it has already been delivered to you.
