At Kohl's, our customers' security comes first. In order to ensure the protection of our customers' sensitive information, we advise our customers to follow these guidelines:
Tips to Help Protect Your Personal Information
- Be skeptical of requests for account numbers, social security numbers, credit card numbers, or any other sensitive personal information. Never share sensitive personal information with anyone you do not know, especially if you suspect fraud.
- Do not reply to unexpected emails, telephone calls, text messages or social media posts asking you for personal information. If you have any doubts about the legitimacy of an email, please do not click on any links in that email.
- Never share your log-in credentials with anyone.
Password Tips
- Change your password every 90 days.
- Avoid reusing the same password for multiple websites.
- Use complex characters (including a combination of letters, numbers and special characters).
- Choose a password that may be difficult for others to guess.
Help Secure Your Computer
- Install recommended security and software updates for your computer or device.
- Routinely review security settings on your computer or device to maximize your protection.
Securing Your Information Sent Online
- Look for a secure connection before sending personal information over the internet. To confirm that your connection is secure, look for a locked padlock icon or the letters "https" in the address bar of your web browser.
- Always log out when you are finished using a web site.
One-Time Passcodes
Kohl’s has implemented a one-time passcode (OTP) security feature, also known as a verification code, to help keep your Kohl’s account and credit cards more secure. You may be required to authenticate your identity when creating or logging into Kohl’s online account, resetting your account password, making a purchase online at Kohls.com, or when you are adding your Kohl’s Card or Kohl’s Rewards Visa to a digital wallet by receiving an OTP via email or text message. In general, Kohl’s may send you an OTP when we detect suspicious or fraudulent activity, which may vary depending on the particular set of circumstances. If you select to receive the OTP via text message, message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.
If you are the victim of identity theft seeking application and/or business transaction records related to a transaction at Kohl's:
Kohl’s will send you available application and/or business transaction records within 30 days free of charge upon receipt of all of the following: (1) a written request that provides sufficient information for Kohl’s to identify the fraudulent transactions and/or application, (2) a copy of your government issued identification, (3) a copy of the police report filed related to the identity theft at issue, and (4) an identity theft affidavit similar in form to the one that can be created at https://www.identitytheft.gov/
