Your Guide to Bikes for Boys

There’s nothing better than long rides, feeling the wind in your face, and exploring the great outdoors. Help your little one do all three with boy’s bikes from Kohl’s! Adventure awaits and a bike is his mode of transportation to get there in style. Let his personality shine through with the colors he loves and bicycle decorations that make him stand out from the crowd. When it comes to finding the ideal bike for him, there are a lot of factors to keep in mind. The great news is that kids can start properly riding bikes from about 3 years of age. Choosing the right bike for your child is crucial for him to ride safely and with confidence. That said, let’s dive into your guide to bikes for boys.

What Size Bike Does Your Child Need?

Much like clothing, children need a bike that looks nice and feels comfortable. Therefore, it’s imperative to find a bike that properly fits your kiddo. After all, a bike that’s too large will be difficult to ride and control. Conversely, a bicycle that’s too small might cause him to feel cramped. The general rule of thumb is to use a size chart, but if you don’t have one, you can use this as a guide:

  • Wheel Size: 12” Age: 2-3 Height: 2’10”-3’4”
  • Wheel Size: 14” Age: 3-4 Height: 3’5”-3’7”
  • Wheel Size: 16” Age: 4-5 Height: 3’7”-4’0”
  • Wheel Size: 20” Age: 5-8 Height: 4’0”-4’5”
  • Wheel Size: 24” Age: 8-11 Height: 4’5”-4’9”

Types of Boy’s Bikes

Guides and charts are helpful as a starting point, but there’s nothing more useful than watching your kid actually test out a bike. In addition, you should consider where the bike will be ridden. Do you want a bike t
