Although, this waffle maker makes beautiful waffles the craftmanship is very, very poor. I was given one and upon opening up the waffle maker the PLASTIC screw for the hinge broke. I thought hey no problem, exchange it for a new one. Got the new one in and used it 2x...the PLASTIC screw on the waffle maker broke off the hinge again. Hmmm, could it be because the waffle iron gets so hot that it affects the PLASTIC screw. NOT a smart design! Sad to say that this product is not worth the money. Save your money to buy a better well designed waffle maker. Dissappointed as Black & Decker is a brand that I always recall as a great quality company. Not for this product!

This waffle maker is great for the price. Makes a perfect golden waffle.

Awful waffle maker! I used it about 2-3 times and started falling apart. It was a Xmas gift and I tried to take it back to them around the "returns" time. The lines were ridiculous so took it back 3-4 months after Xmas. I got weird feedback from customer service. They eventually told me they couldn't help me because there's no BnD waffle makers in the back to get the UPC code from. They told me to come back in a month or two. As I was leaving I went to home furnishings and found a display model. So I took that back to "customer service" and asked why they couldn't use this one? Well they did and gave me credit for my maker. Sadly I have to go back there at least one more times.

Received this as a gift last Christmas. Have used it about 12 time since then. I have read the negative reviews, but have not shared their experiences. This is a very basic, smaller waffle maker that does not take up too much room (can be store standing up!), and produces very evenly cooked waffles using a variety of recipes. It has no bells and whistles, but works fine and for the price it is very nice. I do recommend re-greasing the plates after every third or fourth use, and use only silicon instruments to avoid scratching the non-stick finish. It easily wipes clean once cooled.
