I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Before using, I ran some water through the maker and water spilled on the counter. I just thought I must not have gotten the carafe in right and didn't think too much about it. Nope, it wasn't operator error after all. We've used it a couple of times and it spilled coffee both times. So, I thought I had just gotten a defective one and considered exchanging it. After reading the reviews, I'll just return it since they all seem to do this.

The first one I bought spilled all over the counter. I read the reviews, there were 4 then, 2 hated the pot and 2 loved it. So I returned the one I had and got a different one hoping it would work better. It doesn't spill all over the counter when brewing but
Water levels on pot and machine don't equal the same amount but at any rate you are lucky if two cups brew no matter how much water you put in.
The coffee is usually cold.
It is very, very slow.
The pump is weak so the basket with the coffee in it fills with water and the water stays there.
Too bad, because the size is perfect for me but this model should be taken off the shelf. Do not waste your money no matter how cheap.

I bought one before Christmas and returned it for another one because I thought the first one was defective and got another one in exchange. I tried to make coffee in it yesterday and the water just sits in the reservoir, just like the first one. I made sure everything was in place and started the procedure all over again, and still nothing. It is not working again. The reason I bought it in the first place was because it was the perfect size for our needs; 3 cups for my husband and 2 for me. I am taking it back today and hopefully will get my money back.

This coffee maker makes great coffee but has two flaws. The basket that holds the coffee grounds cannot be removed, so rinsing out stray coffee grounds requires holding the whole coffee maker over the sink. The main flaw that made me return it is: no matter how I poured the coffee, it leaked. I had to hold it over the sink to avoid getting coffee on the floor, table, etc.
