Kohl’s Lincoln is proud to be part of the community of
Lincolnwood, Illinois. Lincolnwood is a village in Cook County that
borders the city of Chicago. Incorporated in 1911, the village was
known as Tessville, and during Prohibition, it was a popular locale
for speakeasies and gambling. Elected in 1931, the village’s
longest-serving mayor, Henry A. Prosel, helped change its image,
and he changed its name to Lincolnwood in 1936.
Today, Lincolnwood offers a diverse community in its 2.69 square
miles. Among its foundation of residential, commercial and light
manufacturing properties, Lincolnwood features a community center
as well as many parks, baseball diamonds, tennis courts and more.
You may also enjoy the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra, an orchestra
founded in 1990 that serves all of Chicagoland in addition to its
home village. The village of Lincolnwood also includes Lincolnwood
Town Center, a destination mall for many Chicago city-dwellers as

car. If you’re coming from the city, use the CTA to hop on the 82
bus north to Lincolnwood Town Center, or use routes 11, 54A, 96 or
155. West Lincolnwood is serviced by the Edgebrook Metra Station, a
part of the Milwaukee District/North Line. Pace also services
Lincolnwood, so try routes 290, 210 or 226 to get to Kohl’s. If
you’re driving, take I-94 to the Touhy exit east and follow that to
the intersection of Touhy and McCormick Boulevard.
