Rated 5 out of 5 by from Appears flimsy but lasts for decades - PERFECT! I am purchasing this because it is an electronic version of the manual one I received as a bridal shower gift 37 years ago. I put this little beauty to work all these years, Foxholler says it looks flimsy, the light weight is what i am after. in the end, the storing convenience, the ease of cleaning and the flexibility of use from the fridge to the stove and back to slow cooker out weighed the fancy digital wonders of the rest. I wanted fancy, but I don't really need fancy, I need practicality. I have everything I loved about the old one plus I now have some options like programmable, an extra 1 qt, and auto warmer, that's all I really needed. (my old was 5 qt) It's perfect for cooking corn on cob. I love the oblong shape as it saves space on the kitchen counter and storing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Slow Cooker My Dad got me this style over 20 years ago. It was easy cleaning unlike the ceramic style. We took it camping and used the bottom to make breakfast foods i.e. sausages. It lasted for many years. I gave it to my daughter and she used it for another 5-6 years. Time for my new one! I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like it - but it is not quite what I expected So far I have only used it one time. Used Crock pot to cook whole chicken then made broccoli, mushroom, cheese, chicken soup. Product SEEMS a bit Flimsy to me -- had a ceramic crock pot before - weighed a ton. Both base and pot for this appliance are light weight. Not sure this is a bad thing. Pot and lid are a nice size for storing finished meal in the fridge. Make sure you use potholders or gloves once pot has started heating - for pot and lid. Size of pot was smaller than I had mentally pictured (ordered this online without seeing the real thing) HOWEVER it held a moderate size full chicken -- that I was sure would NOT fit - and fit just fine. Clean up is easy. Be sure to "prime" the non-stick surface of pot w veg oil per directions. I don't plan to put it in the dishwasher, however you can if you want. Controls are not quite as adjustable as I was hoping. Still just warm or hot (from what I have tried) But the timing function is good. Goes to automatic warming - a plus and I think this will keep some things from being overcooked. Will try the griddle function this weekend. Craving grilled cheese or maybe pancakes. I do recommend this product. Might not have had all the mis-impressions had I gone to the store to see it in person first. In fact, I imagine I will enjoy/like more as I use it more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Features I had a West Bend before that was a little smaller but not much and had the basic low, medium, and high and nothing else and it was great. I got this as a gift so I went for the higher end model. Great quality but a little pricey. We'll see how it lasts.
