Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality, beautiful and simple This kitchen is fantastic. I bought it for my 3 y.o. son for Christmas and he LOVED it. I love that it is very gender neutral and constructed of real wood. The fridge/cabinet and oven are very roomy. The burners and sink are generously sized. The only thing I didn't like is that the timer is rather cheap and doesn't always ring. I put it together in about an hour on Christmas eve, but I was working slowly. The instructions are excellent, very clear, step-by-step pictoral diagrams. Every different type of part and screw is indiviually packaged and numbered or lettered so they don't get mixed up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Kitchen for Boys! My 2 1/2 year old received this for Christmas. My husband was not thrilled with the idea of our son getting a kitchen, but its actually very simple and as boy as it can get - durable, simple colors, etc. He really enjoys it thus far. I do wish it had a bit more to entertain on it like some of the others have or come with pots and pans or something else, but at least you can purchase. However; no Melissa and Doug sets are just pots, pans, oven mitt, and utensils. They need to offer that in my opinion. :) Otherwise, a great buy and easy to ensemble.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Truly disappointing We purchased this kitchen set for our daughter for Christmas. We loved the appeal of it as it had a retro style and loved that it was wooden instead of plastic. What a disappointment it was for us to put the set together. The six screws that mount the top (counter) of the kitchen to the base were not aligned to the base in the slightest bit. We had to force screws to go in and even then we couldn't screw all of them in. We had to leave some of the screws out which obviously poses a danger since the kitchen isn't mounted together completely. In addition, the shelf to the left of the kitchen set had pre-drilled holes that were not aligned correctly therefore forcing us to either leave it with no shelf and exposed holes or take a drill and re-drill the hole to the proper angle in which it was supposed to be. Not to mention that as I was screwing something in, the head of the screw popped right off rendering the screw useless in which the box didn't offer an additional pieces for that specific reason. My daughter loves pretend play and she has quite a few Melissa and Doug products but you can tell that these kitchen sets are just mass produced with no attention to detail or accuracy in the product.
