Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Scrapes The Edges Of The Mixing Bowl I wasn't sure that I'd see a big difference between this Flex Edge Beater and the Flat Beater that came with my KitchenAid Stand Mixer, but wow what a difference. The Flex Edge Beater scraped all ingredients from the sides of the bowl that my old Flat Beater used to leave behind. Without having to stop the machine to tilt the head back to manually scrape the bowl, the Flex Edge Beater saves a lot of time & effort. The white powder coating is also nice because things like a sticky bread dough come off much easier than it did the older metal attachments. Glad I purchased this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Manual is better A friend had told me about this item. I was so excited for it to arrive and once it did I used it immediately. While it does get to the sides a bit better than the regular paddle attachment, I would have expected it to be a closer scrape than what it is. I feel like it doesn't mix quite as well as the regular paddle. We certainly can do a better scrape job with a manual rubber spatula. I also notice there is a groove in the rubber that collects flour/ batter, etc. therefore it's not a thorough mix. Overall I am disappointed mainly in the non scraper bowl ability that I expected it to have. Not a terrible buy but not what I expected.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from KitchenAid Flex Edge Beater (5 Qt Tilt Head) We had a similar after-market beater for our old KitchenAid stand mixer that we loved (except it had the flex edge on both sides of the beater) and so we assumed that this one made by KitchenAid would be as good or better since it was made by KitchenAid specifically for the 5 qt. tilt head Artisan mixer. Unfortunately, it is NOT. We find that the flex edge pushes the bowl contents towards the top of the bowl when beating, necessitating more frequent bowl scraping to push the contents back down into the bowl -- this did not happen with the after-market beater for the old mixer. The standard beater that comes with the Artisan mixer actually works much better even though you have to periodically scrape the sides of the bowl. Save your money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good accessory but enamal chipped The beater does a good job however after a couple months of use the enamel has chipped off the bottom. I don't like using this paddle because of this.
