OK Quality..... But Why The Changes ?
I have worn these same carpenter jeans for years. I recently ordered a new pair and found what others have complained about, the side tool pocket was narrowed about 1/2 inch. Why, with cell phones getting larger, would you make this pocket smaller ? Come on Dickies, if something is not broken, don't try to fix it.
My other complaint is I believe the quality control has been cut out as one of the pairs I ordered has a very noticeable line in the fabric going down the front of the pants. While I chose to keep the pair, I know Dickies would have replaced them without question. But they should have caught the flaw in the fabric and not sent them out in the first place.

Carpenter Denim Jean
I bout 5 pair of these 2 years ago for work. They have held up extremely well and are just now starting to get where i will need to replace them. they are put together very well, double stitching is a must. I bought 2 new pair recently and i do have one complaint. the side pocket is where i put my phone while working, its convenient and out of the way also mostly protected. the new jean the pocket is about half the size of the old one and my phone wont fit, other than that is a good purchase.

Great wearing jeans with 1 caveat...
Last time I bought these was almost 6 years ago and after using them for both work and play, they are finally too worn for casual Friday office duty. However, these are sturdy jeans and they have plenty of life left for the shop. At 5'6" I'm the tallest short-guy I know, but the relaxed fit @ 31x30 is great and the broken-in comfort right out of the package is unmatched. My only complaint is that the tool pocket on the right leg has been downsized and is now too narrow to fit my Samsung S5 which is REALLY disappointing as this was the perfect unobtrusive but handy place for that device. This causes my 'value' rating to downgrade from Excellent to Good. Can you please fix this for next time?
