Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, but. . . I have owned my KitchenAid stand-lift mixer since the early 80's, that's just about 30 years, and I love it! It included 3 beaters, the flat coated beater, the dough hook and the balloon whip. About 10 years ago the flat beater's vinyl coating began to crack but I didn't know how or where to get a replacement. Now I know how and where, but I would love to be able to get one that is stainless rather than the vinyl coat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor material for mixing blade...have to pay to replace I bought my second mixer for my beach home. I bought a less expensive model KSM95. The blade is not coated white but is metal. The blade was only hand washed as instructed. However, within one year, the blade was leaving an unsightly residue discoloring light colored recipes and leaving gray/black on your hands and dish cloth. Because I can't find my receipt Kitchen Aid is required that I pay for a white coated blade. Manufacturers defect and Kitchen aid should stand behind their product

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Coating cracks and comes off The beater works fine but I am getting ready to replace my 3rd one because the coating cracks and starts peeling off. Granted I've had the mixer about 13 years, but I would expect the beaters to last as long as the mixer. I'm getting the burnished one this time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chipping I am on my third coated flat beater. Every one has chipped. I wanted to order the burnished one but that one has terrible reviews also. I would never buy another KitchenAid product. I bake for a local charity. The children already have compromised immune systems without having flakes of whatever in their baked goods. I had an old KitchenAid that I gave away - wish I could get it back!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Another coating failure I have several KitchenAid mixers and the flat beater with the coating has begun to flake off. I now need to figure out how to buy a new one that will work with this mixer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chipping paint The paint has been chipping for a while, but now it is chipping more and more. I've had it fall in my batter! It looks like others on here have replaced theirs several times and had the same problems. Such an expensive product should have quality parts!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kitchenaid Model 4KSM150PSMC Mixer I am satisfied with the mixer but am not happy with Flat Beater because of the coating chipping. My search for a replacement has brought me to to this Review which indicates that you are having problems with this product. Is the problem solved? Do you have an alternative proven replacement beater available? I would only recommend to a friend if you have solved your problem

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stainless please!!! I spent some time today picking paint chips out of my cookie dough. I went online to see if I could buy stainless and the closest thing I see is burnished aluminum. I don't buy or cook with anything aluminum, so that's a no-go. I don't see why it would be that hard to add as an option. Most people would pay the extra cost to avoid paint chips and aluminum in their cookies.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chipping Enamel Was given the white Kitchen aid mixer 5qt i think, about 4 years ago. Use it for all kinds of thing and it has made my life easier. Didnt realize the enael had chipped off the beater until my husband said something. Now I dont want to use it. Is there another kind without the enamel? Such a shame for such an expensive item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beater paint chips off I'm disappointed in the poor quality of this beater since the paint is chipping off and getting into the food. The replacement options, based on the reviews, do not seem very promising. What can't Kitchen Aid make a high quality product like they did many years ago?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chipping While the product works, the coating chips bad and just continues after each use. Pieces end up following into the mixing bowl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adjust bowl if beater blade coating comes off I called KitchenAid to order a new flat beater for my 6 quart Epicurean mixer. The rep asked me to adjust the height of my bowl so that the beater did not continue to hit the bottom of the bowl. The adjustment is easy. Call the KitchenAid reps at their 800 number and they will walk you through lowering the bowl. That will prevent the beater from hitting the bowl and making the coating get worn off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Chipping I have had a Kitchenaid mixer for more than 25 years. When my mixer went out last year my family bought me a new 6 qt Kitchenaid. After using it a few times the coating started chipping off the paddle. I am very upset about this because I use the paddle most. :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointment The white paint started chipping off my beater in several places after just a few uses. I adjusted my beater as instructed before I ever used the mixer, so I know it's not from hitting the bottom of the bowl. The beater was replaced and the 2nd one I received did the same thing. My mixer isn't even a year old and I've been thru 2 beaters with both chipping off everywhere!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coating Chips I love my Mixer! I have had my mixer for about 10 years, but I have had to replace the beater blade several times due to the coating that chips off. I always hand wash the blade and it does not rub against the bottom of the bowl. I used it again last night and had to toss out my dough as another piece flakes off into the batter. On top of that now my mixer is making a terrible sound as iff it is wearing out. I fear it is time for a new mixer. I had hoped it would last longer than 10 years. I could see if i used it daily, but I use it only a fe times a month. Very disappointed and not wanting to replace yet another blade. After redoing the reviews of the burnished blade, I don't know if I even want to try that one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paint chipping off into my food! Do you offer a different beater for my mixer model where the paint doesn't chip off? I love the mixer, hate the beater

Rated 3 out of 5 by from paint chips I love my mixer so much I upgraded from a smaller model to this one so I could make breads. However I am very disappointed in the nylon coated beater and dough hook, both repeatedly flake off the paint. I have to buy new ones repeatedly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coating comes off in less than 6 months of use.. The coating Terrible design on their part. They don't replace the part after one year.. and the coating on the beater starts peeling off in less than six months and goes into food. .. DON'T BUY THIS..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coated beater chipping off in food I have had my Kitchen Aide mixer for a number of years and love everything about it EXCEPT the coated beater. I have replaced the beater twice, only hand wash it, and STILL the coating comes off and gets into the food. My brother found some in his mashed potatoes at a holiday gathering! It is difficult to find a replacement beater, as all of the ones in the stores are designed for newer model mixers. Please advise on how to remedy this problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expect more Look, I am a fan of Kitcheaid mixers, but cmon. Why is there a coating that comes off and why do the aluminum ones bleed grey? Would stainless not work? I guess finally finding a way to replace is nice but really, I EXPECT MORE and you should too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Chipped enamel Received the mixer as a gift & washed all parts by hand. I absolutely LOVE my mixer...just the beater, not so much: the enamel is chipping and getting into my food. Yuck. And it's the one attachment I use the most!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Paint chipping off beater I have always wanted a kitchen aide mixer and was pleased when I received one for a gift last year. I have only used it a half dozen times and the white coating is missing on the bottom Iasked for a replacement beater this year and was told it only comes with the coating for my machine. I am upset that there is not another option! After all the negative reviews I am not sure kitchen aide is willing to stand by its product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from White coating is coming off I purchased this coated beater to replace my non coated one since I seen it was dishwasher safe and I had to hand wash the old one. Good thing I save the old one since the coating is peeling off of the new one, it started around the little hole on the side by where the beater attaches to the mixer. I called kitchen aid and just got the run around to sell me another beater. Back to using the old beater and hand washing it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap! Enamel chips off Very disappointed in this product! The enamel chipped off the beater, making it useless for food prep. The Kitchen Aid name is sorely compromised by this defective part. Would never recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coating chipped off after first use I just received my mixer for Christmas two weeks and just tested it out making cookie dough and notice the chips and cracking of the coating. I only noticed as I was hand washing the beater, so my dough was ruined. I was very excited to use my new gift and am very disappointed at the terrible quality, I expected more from KitchenAid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chipping I love, love, love my kitchenaid mixer. I bought it over 10 years ago and it's still going strong. I see all the beautiful new kitchenaid mixers that have been brought to market since my purchase but mine is still going strong so I see no need to replace. And it still helps make my parker house rolls the star of the show at thanksgiving. Yes, the enamel on my blade is flaking off, too. But that only happened in last year. When I first saw it I thought it was touching the bottom, but, no it isn't. And it's getting worse. But all things give out with time. It's been 10 years after all! I'm going to get another blade and I think this is a great product. Nothing is perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Kitchenaid doesnt stand behone product The coating is chipping off of the flat beater and Whirlpool aka Kitchenaid isn't standing behind their product. Their answer is for me to buy another one. No thank you, I will buy a new mixer from a company that stands behind their product. I won't waste more money on this company. There are other more affordable pieces out there that work just as good.
