Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad BEATERS! Unfortunately KitchenAid has no plans to re-design the beater attachments. The one attachment you'll use most. Two options, the coated beater that chips off in use. Or the burnished metal beater that oxidizes and turns your batters gray. Just great. Its sad because the actual mixers get 5 stars in my book. I wont buy another mixer from KitchenAid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chipping Paint I have had my mixer for many years, but now the paint is chipping. A large piece must have chipped off while I was mixing mashed potatoes, and my poor son bit down on it in the potatoes. Gross! Now I read that this is a major problems. Stopped buying Kitchenaid dish washers because all 3 of mine leaked. Now this issue with Kitchenaid. It is a shame that this workhorse has such a poor accessory. Fix the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Where have the metal chips gone? I love my Kitchen Aid mixer and use it often. The last two days I've spent making Valentine cookies for grade school party next week. Tonight I noticed a large chip of enamel has come off my white coated flat beater. But where is the chip? I'm just sick to think the chip is somewhere in the cookies and I'll need to toss them all. Now I'm reading all the reviews about enamel flat beaters chipping? I'm so disappointed that KitchenAid hasnt resolved this problem! Think twice before you invest in this classic mixer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted less than a year Less than a year and I am already replacing the flat beater because the coating CHIPPED in use -- so I had to TOSS OUT an entire batch of cheesecake batter! First the whisk oxidized because apparently you can't put them in the dishwasher any longer (how do you sanitize or de-grease effectively then?) and now this. KitchenAid is getting to be the CHEAP junk rather than the quality product.
