Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Chipped coating falling into my dough. I am over it and have thrown it out. I have just spent an hour shopping online for a STAINLESS STEEL version of this dough hook for my Artisan KSM150 mixer and absolutely cannot believe it does not exist. Or does it, and I just cannot find it? I do not want an aluminum version due to the terrible reviews. Stainless steel. Willing to pay more for it. Customer service: I am disappointed to read previous reviews and see the same customer service cookie-cutter response. Please get rid of the impersonal copy and paste. It shows a lack of concern and indicates poor department training.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wire Whip Attachment Leaves a lot to be desired I am with ALL of the others who have had issues with this attachment. I can see that the breaking prongs is an issue for a lot of people and I HAVE sent an email to Corporate with my discontent about this accessory. I'm on my 4th replacement of this part and the cost has doubled since the first replacement. Very disappointed in this part and when I go to purchase a new mixer in another year, I'll go with another manufacturer and possibly just spend more on a commercial version as I'm adding to my cost every 6 months with this mixer anyway. Wake up KitchenAid...your customers are not happy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wire Whip made of aluminum and stainless steel will corrode The wire whip that came with my beautiful new tilt head grape colored mixer is made of an aluminum body with stainless steel wires. Haven't your engineers every heard of galvanic corrosion? The aluminum will oxidize if you put this in contact with any conductive solution: Lemon juice, dishwasher soap, dish washing detergent, vinegar. Bad engineering! The oxidation forms an icky black powder that covers everything and gets in the food in the mixer if it gets wet. Eventually the wires will come out of the body as the corrosion continues. I tried coating mine with clear nail polish, but then it wouldn't fit on the head anymore. Make it all stainless.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Feeling ripped off! Like other reviewers, I'm feeling ripped off. If a manufacturer knows of a recurring problem, WHY NOT FIX IT? I have my mixer for 5 years but probably use it only 4-6 times a year for very specific recipes where the dough hook is needed. I did pre-read all of the use and care literature because, for me, this is a huge investment. The dough hook is dishwasher safe and I only wash it on the top rack. Why then does the coating come off? I'll tell you why; it's so Kitchenaid can make money off of the consumer every year or two! C'mon Kitchenaid, you can do better! Make the hook without the coating or I will consciously avoid buying ANY of your products in the future!
