Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap but not inexpensive I miss real wood shelves. I have paid less money for real wood. For the money I was expecting better but these shelves looked good in the online pictures. The shelf edges were chipped, I suppose from shipping and handling - nothing a brown magic marker could not cover. The shelves were easy to assemble (having two people to hold things together definitely helped). I am very disappointed in the 'paper board' back with two creases visible from across the room. It makes the whole shelving ambiance (two shelves on either side of the fireplace) look cheap.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK PROS -looks decent CONS -Cheaply made -Not stable, very wobbly -Missing pattern: Bought two of these and one of the shelves' backing was missing a pattern, was just a plain black cardboard, while the other one had oak patterning on the backing. -Horrible construction on the shelves, some of the edges on the tiers jut out on the top when it's suppose to be flat (hard to explain without pictures) -not worth purchasing, save your money

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult Assembly I have never had a more difficult time putting a product together. The bookcase was wobbly when I was assembling. The screws kept popping out of the sides. The sides were scratched up and some were scuffed on the corners. The back comes in two pieces that need to overlap which caused me to then but a small nail through a few spots of the middle shelf. It took too long to assemble - I refuse to take it apart and send it back. Just disappointed I spent the money and time for something that looks beat up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cherry isn't red! I was very disappointed in my bookcase. I bought it to match the floors in my son's room, which are Brazilian Cherry. This bookcase may have a cherry wood-grain finish, but it is varying shades of brown with NO red tint at all. My husband brought the box inside and immediately began assembling the bookcase without my knowledge. If I would have seen the loose pieces, I would have packed it up and returned it...but it is now assembled. My husband said that 3/4 of the pieces were damaged in shipping on the corners, that the holes for assembly on the top piece didn't line up, so the top piece hangs over one side only (uneven). My husband made it perfectly clear that he was NOT going to dis-assemble it to return it. So, we're stuck with it.
