Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would give a 5 star rating if...... This cooker is amazing!! I have used it for pressure cooking and slow cooking. True slow cooking temp. The only problem - the ceramic pot that is included with the cooker. I still have not been able to remove the lingering smell from cooking chicken in it. I purchased the stainless steel insert for this cooker. I wish Fagor would just include the stainless steel insert and sell the nonstick insert separately. That would make it 5 star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, quick, cleans easy, good as advertised I've had a Fagor 8 quart pressure cooker for decades. I bought this new one for the features, stuck with Fagor because the original was so solidly built and dependable. The base of the old one is slightly larger, and came with a steamer basket and an internal trivet. The insert for the new one fits inside the old one, but they are both 8 quarts. The newer model is larger than the older one. You're a lot less likely to steam burn yourself with this model. The old one was a stove top, and took a while to build up pressure, and the pressure release valve was noisy and sputtered a lot. The insert for the new model is amazingly non-stick. Very simple to clean. The cookbook is very limited, and so is the downloadable pdf. That all being said, I've cooked rice, pressure cooked mac and cheese, did a series of saute then browned then pressure cook items. Very easy to go from one mode to another. Pressure builds up far more rapidly than the stovetop model, clock begins it countdown at that point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I had only used manual pressure cookers prior to purchasing this product. I read the reviews, and decided on the Fagor LUX Electric Multi-Cooker. I am not disappointed. I cooked frozen chicken breast in it the day I received it. The manual didn't have suggested cook times for frozen meats, so I just doubled the times listed for thawed meat. It took about 8-10 minutes for the pressure to build up, and I had it set for 20 minutes. When it was finished, I was able to release the pressure using the steam valve. LOVE this option! (You have to be extremely careful when doing this, as serious injury can occur if your arm or face are near the opening. Anyone who's used a pressure cooker is familiar with this.) In less than 30 minutes, the meat was done and tender. I love the non-stick liner. Clean up is easy. I have a new favorite appliance in my kitchen! I also made "baked" steak in it. I cooked the meat, removed it from the cooker, then used the sauté option (lid off) to make the gravy in the same pot! Added the meat to the gravy, put the lid back on and let simmer while finishing up the rest of the meal prep. Love, love, love this product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible customer service I loved this pressure cooker, for the first few months. All of a sudden, the brown function would cause it to turn off. No response from Fagor, either through their Facebook or their email. Invest in an InstantPot not this junk.
