Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strategy and Math Family game night has a new game! Royal Roundup is a quick and easy game that works on strategy and math. My five year old daughter loved the theme, and it was something she do completely independent. You have to plan your moves in order to land on the spaces with tokens. The person with the most tokens or points wins. I like this because you can make the math aspect of the game easier or harder depending on who you play with. We counted the total number of tokens, but one could add up the points on tokens won to make it harder. An added benefit, it is a quick game that does not drag out like other games.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from royally roaring with laughter Absolutely fantastic!!! I played this with a 3 and 4 year old despite the 5+ rating and we had a fantastic time. They loved it. Simple rules (and 2 play options) but quickly became tactical with the girls plotting against me by working out their next moves ahead of me. loved being able to work on colour recognition and numbers with some critical thinking thrown in for good measure. lots of laughing and constant requests to get it out again since our first play. Its a firm favourite in my setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and Fun to Play My 4-year-old and 6-year-old played this together and had so much fun! It took a few turns before my 4-year-old picked up on how to play, but this game is fantastic fun for little ones. They were learning to take turns, to follow lines on the board, to read the numbers on the shields, and how to play together. Royal Roundup will be a game that they will be able to play together without any help, as long as their little 2-year-old brother doesn't swoop in to mess up all the pieces!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fun game! Royal Roundup is a fun game! It has simple, clear instructions which allowed play to begin without lengthy directions. The game "grabbed" and held my four-year old's interest and progressed quickly which reinforced his interest. He found the markers (horses) fun. The tokens were easily identified by my son and they had him strategizing how to get his favorite tokens almost immediately. I was impressed at how the game did exactly what it said it would which was to introduce him to simply strategy. It gave him the opportunity to utilize higher level thinking strategies by giving three "path" choices which would allow him to reach a desired token. The game also allows him to practice his counting and addition skills. I'm very pleased with the game and recommend it.
