Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy, fast, accurate.. I've been using this fantastic thermometer weekly for almost two years, both for indoor and outdoor (grill) cooking. No more undercooked or overcooked chicken! The readout registers in a matter of seconds, compared to analog thermometers where I'd have to wait seemingly forever for the red needle to move..ever so slowly move... It's easy to clean - just wash the metal wand by hand, and it comes with a handy guide for the most common cooking temps. If it ever broke I'd buy another without hesitation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from must have kitchen tool I have 2 daughters. Daughter @#1 had this thermometer and my grandson came over and borrowed it without her knowledge. He was called to bring it back and my granddaughter bought him one for his birthday and I happened to be with her and I thought, I need one of those too. So after purchasing my own, Daughter #2 mentioned she was having trouble getting meats done so needless to say, I purchased one for her and we all could not live without them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete malfunction The screen that shows the temp kept steaming up. Halfway to caramels the thermometer turned off. By the time the temp neared my goal of 248 degrees, I couldn't see the numbers, even with my face 5 inches from the thermometer. Finally I had to take it off to read. Caramels ruined. Went to toffee. AND, the screen permanently rippled and warped. This only the second time I used it and it was mounted on a 4 quart AllClad saucepan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nearly Dead on Arrival We were excited about this easy-to-use device to check meat temperatures on the grill. While the device has a nice appearance and seemingly great functionality, it died the first time we used it. While holding it in the meat waiting for the temperature to settle, the screen went blank and now doesn't turn on at all. Maybe it wasn't meant to be held in that long? The temperature chart fastened to the thermometer is very handy.
