Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the comfort seeking kid ... My 9 year old refuses to wear any shorts unless they're athletic shorts. But, he wears these. They're very light weight and comfortable ... we actually thought they were swimming trunks at first. He has these in every color. He wears a size 10/12 ... and has these in a Large.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NIce quality, poor fit I bought these shorts in a Large, for my tall 10 1/2 year old who wears a size 14 jean (which are slightly too long generally, but doable). He is not necessarily a "husky" kid, although he does a a small tummy, but is slim through the rear, hips and legs, so the elastic waist is more comfortable. The shorts were really nice, well built with nice sturdy material and cool pockets. Unfortunately, they were a bit too big in the waist, and ridiculously long! They hit him mid shin, and looked awfully silly. They have a toggle at the waist which when I tried to tighten, only slipped back out, so is really not fictional at all and really just for show. I bought 2 pair which will both have to go back. I thought I'd give this new brand a try, but will probably go back to Urban Pipeline which seems to fit well for this age group. Perhaps the Plugg brand is more appropriately styled for a true teen(13-16) who has already made that growth spurt and needs/wants the length. I really like the Helix brand too, but they seemed to have dropped it since I cannot find it anymore.
