Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and Very Versatile! It looks like a simple toy, but I've discovered so many ways to use the Counterpillar with my 3 and 5 year old children. They can count, name colors, add, subtract and compare smaller and larger numbers. Skip counting to 10 or 20 is also a great exercise. We love that it's so cute and colorful and easy to carry. It looks adorable on the shelf in our school room, and my children keep coming back to it every day. What a great and affordable resource!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots Of Fun For The Younger Learners! The Learning Essentials Counterpillar offers bright appealing colors that attracts children's attention. The kids love sliding the colored beads back and forth as we practice counting, colors, and simple math. The base is sturdy and I really like that the feature of the numbers on the front as it helps kids begin to associate the written number with the spoken match.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect To Grow With Your Child Parker tends to gravitate towards toys that are colorful and have some kind of animal or face on them. At the same time, when there are too many bells and whistles, he can get overwhelmed and lose interest. The Learning Resources Counterpillar™ is the perfect combination that attracts him but doesn't overwhelm him. As a family who moves often I enjoy toys that are a little smaller and light weight. They are easier to move with and tend to last longer. I like how even though it is light weight the wide base keeps it nice and sturdy even through semi rough play. Caity likes carrying things around and the top is the perfect size for her little hands. The Learning Resources Counterpillar™ is practical and can grow with your child. Right now we are working with Parker on his fine motor skills, simple counting, and color identification. Once he gets all of that down we can focus on other counting and math skills. Later down the road we can also use this to help with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool for Kids Learning to Count My son is getting to the age where he wants to learn everything. Turning 3 has turned him into the king of the "Why?" questions. With the Counterpillar, we can take that curiosity and turn it into a learning game. My son knows his numbers, but doesn't know how to count. The Counterpillar allows kids to slide colored beads and count them as they follow along with the numbered lines below. The product is a toy in and of itself because of it's brightly colored character and the beads, so even when my son isn't learning with us, he's still playing with it by himself and talking to the Counterpillar as he grasps the concept of incremental counting and some very basic subtraction. I'm sure there are products out there that do the same thing as this, but the way Learning Resources have turned it into a fun activity with a very colorful character makes this a truly unique product. If you have a little one at home who is beginning to understand his numbers or if you just want to start introducing some fun learning activities into their life, you can't go wrong with the Counterpillar.
