We have tried numerous vacuums over the past few years as we have two cats and were looking for something that would remove the pet hair from bedclothes and chairs. The Bissell Professional is the perfect machine for the job. We are totally satisfied with its action on both hardwood floors and carpets. The only downside is that the machine is really heavy and we would have preferred a longer electrical cord, but these are MINOR issues compared to the excellent work that it does. The old adage applies ---- you get what you pay for ---- and although at the top end of our budget, well worth it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality vacuum for the cost I have had this vacuum a little over a year and a half and have nothing but complaints! First it is awkward to maneuver and doesn't move very well when moving around large areas....feels like I am pulling around a cinder block. The suction is not the greatest as others have already mentioned. The one thing that is really frustrating is the belts on the head continuousily snap for no apparent reason. Never have I ever had to replace the belt on my old vacuum and this one being only 1.5, I have been through 3 belts in a month. Definetly something wrong there!! I wouldn't recommend spending your hard earned cash on a piece of garbage that will need constant repairs and headaches.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed We thought that we were purchasing a good product because of the Bissell name. It is heavy and awkward to use but the filters are my biggest complaint. We spend more time cleaning these and find this to be an annoyance. Never had to do this with any other vacuum I have owned in my life. Since the filters need to dry for 24 hours you are stuck if in the middle of cleaning and there is no suction. If I could get a refund I definitely would. Save your money people.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great vacuum wish it would continue to work I purchased this vacuum in the hopes of getting my floors cleaner than a broom and my old upright. The day I received it new out of the box the power buttons on the handle were not working. I had to wait 2 weeks for a vacuum repair shop to order me a new one. After bringing home the second one I vacuumed my livingroom and unplugged the vacuum to move it to my bedroom. When I plugged it back in the foot pedal power button is no longer working. So now I get to bring it back the the repair shop. Really hoping they can fix it without having to order a new one. This vacuum does all that I need it too as long as it's powering on. I hope this is not going to be a lifelong problem with this vacuum
