Rated 5 out of 5 by from Junior Explorers Unite! My daughter (4 years old) loves her new "BugOpticals" from GeoSafari Jr. She has been exploring the house and yard with the magnifying lenses. She loved being able to look up close at the roly polys and slugs that she found under a rock. She was so intrigued by the faceted lens when I explained to her that it was how insects see the world around them. The colored lenses were a great addition to this toy. My daughter thought it was neat looking at things in different colors and even "mixed" the colors by overlapping the lenses. She was able to understand how different colors are made (red & yellow make orange, etc.). This is a great toy for all different ages.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun and Engaging I received the Educational Insights Bug Opticals 2 weeks ago. At first my 5 year old son told me it "was a baby toy" but after a few minutes he fell in love with it! He plays with it every day. He likes to see what colors he can make with the various lenses. He also enjoyed using the magnifiers on his toys. We are planning to take it outside soon and explore. I would recommend this for younger children. I think 5 years old is the cut off, though. Full disclosure I was given the Bugs Optical in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Neat educational toy for younger children We received this toy as a test toy and in exchange will write an honest review. My children are 4 and 9 years old. My 9 year is way past this stage in exploring the outside. My 4 year thought it was neat for about a day or two and hasn't really picked it up to play with again. It is made very well and very cute. Each of the circle magnifiers let you view the world in different ways and would be fun to take on a hike or to the park. I would recommend this toy for children younger than four.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of Fun As a homeschool mom, I love collecting fun and educational toys and manipulatives. Anything science related is normally a huge hit in my house. This is both an adorable and handy tool for exploring many things. My children (8 & 4) really like looking through the bug eye. Showing them how secondary colors are made is also a great feature since the wings are movable. The possibilities are almost endless and we will have to venture out to do more exploring with it soon!
