Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engaging toy for preschoolers My 4 year old daughter loves this toy. She was so excited to open it up and get started playing with it. She loves making her own designs with the bolts and plates and thinks the drill is awesome. She likes using the flower drill bit the best. It held her attention so well and she played independently with it for 45 minutes straight. It was easy for her to figure out on her own. The only improvement I would suggest is adding some sort of screwdriver handle that the drill bits would also fit into, so that the child can turn some manually, to try something different or if the drill runs out of batteries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great toy for hand-eye coordination! My two year old daughter and three year old son love this toy! (Yes, he doesn't care that it's pink!). It is easy for the kids to manipulate themselves and I love that they are imagining, creating, and working on their fine motor skills. The plates are a nice touch for "flowers". The only cons is that it is hard to clean up- the pieces have to be put in the exact correct spot or it cannot close. Also, I wish it came with two drills for two kids to play at once! Cute, smart toy! I received this item from Educational Insights for this review, all opinions are my own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A fun toy that appeals to girls' handy and creative sides My daughter really likes this toy. The flower case opens up flat to create a drilling board and she loves drilling in the pieces and making pictures with the different screws and flat plastic pieces. Her older brother even gets out his toy drill and they drill little pictures together. It would be great if everything (the drill, screws, and flat plastic pieces) all fit inside the case for easy clean up. It *almost* does, but not quite, so I keep all of the screws in a gallon ziptop baggie. Other than that, this toy has been well loved for several months now! She started playing with this at 4yo and still enjoys it as a 5yo. I think that's a perfect age for this toy. I also think it's great that there are toy tools specially made to appeal to girls to encourage these types of activities long dominated by boy-centric toys. Girls can use tools, too :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for introducing patterns This product was amazing. My four year old started off just making her own designs with the tools. After she got really good at using the drill, I taught her how to follow the patterns to create the pictures. She enjoyed talking out what color she was going to put where and why. It was also great for her hand eye coordination. My two year old boy also loved this product (it's very durable). Once the four year old made the designs, it was his job to take the bits out so she could make another one. This was great for him as well. A wonderful toy that we look forward to playing and learning with. I am an elementary teacher and I also recommended it to several of my friends for use in their classrooms. Love this!!
