Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great History! This particular Marine Star was one I came across by luck, but perhaps destiny. I wanted something modern that related to my "time" and youth with quality and a sense of history just like my Grandfather's watch. Since I was a young boy, my Grandfather had a distinct watch which I came to find out was a 1959 Bulova Sea King! I now possess this special timepiece and will make sure to pass it down to the next generation. It was my Grandfather's love and pride of his Bulova that drew me in, drew me to this Marine Star and it's nautical history. It's easy to read dial, distinct black finish and smooth chronograph functions was just what I wanted. A watch I use regularly and am complimented on everywhere I go! This is a timepiece to enjoy for many years, looks great dressed up or casual and carries the heritage that is Bulova!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome second watch I bought this watch to replace an old Marine Star I've had for almost 25 years. Between doing construction work in it and all kinds of other abuse I ended up tearing out the crown on a chain link fence I was fixing and it was finally done. I did get it repaired locally but it wasn't a great job. Long story short, sent it to Bulova, they rebuilt the watch and I expect another 25 years out of it. It's now my 'dress watch' In the interim, and not realizing Bulova's techs would do such a stellar job repairing my old one, I bought this new Marine Star. I love it. I wanted something that fit my wrist. I'm a big guy but I don't have thick wrists and this was a good size. Those huge watches aren't flattering on me. I like the sporty/military style of it. As with my older one I can check the news on the radio at the top of the hour and watch my second hand tick up to the 12, right on time, every time. I did buy a third party metal bracelet for it and kept the factory rubber strap on one side. The tongue of the strap kept catching on my jacket and shirt cuffs while I was working and made it hard to pull the sleeve down over the watch. If Bulova would add another retainer strap to the band and make them a little sturdier it would improve the package. The factory strap that retains the tongue of the band seems like it might break over time. Other than that it's another 10/10 for Bulova. I have friends with very expensive watches but they don't look any better or perform as well as my Bulovas and I'm not afraid to wear them. As I mentioned my first Marine Star was on every day during high rise window cleaning, contracting, laborer work and household chores and gardening. I'd scrub it up with a soft brush and soapy water and it always came out shiny and worked like a champ.
