Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks OK but Poor Design The shelf unit is OK in terms of appearance. It's what you would expect from Sauder. However, the construction design is poor. You'll notice it somewhat resembles a folding step ladder. There should be a structural member to keep this unit from trying to fold up like a step ladder. Well, there is, but it is inadequate, it is in the worst possible location structurally speaking, and that member is secured with four skinny screws in sloppy holes. I replaced the screws immediately with stronger screws but the tendency to fold is still a problem. Now, my wife and I are aware of this limitation and we are very gentle on furniture. But, in a normal household, this thing is not going to keep it's shape and the screws that keep it from folding will tear out the fiberboard pieces and the unit will not be able to be repaired. Inexpensive furniture should still have some fundamental structural integrity. If you have another choice take it. I am a do-it-yourself guy with 50 years experience building stuff and repairing my homes and vehicles. I can't afford the best furniture but I also can't afford to replace things that are poorly designed.
