Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointment This is the result of light use in an urban environment. The faux leather upper wore out and developed holes simply from the natural bending of normal footsteps. Its integrity is shot and my foot has become vulnerable to every sort of infiltration. Quality control is questionable. You will be hard-pressed to find much uniformity or consistency as hi-tec often changes its production facility from one country to the next (let alone basic symmetry between the left and right pair). I do not recommend and will not purchase hi-tec again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfied With My Purchase I looked for a tactical boot made by Hi- Tec, but all that I found were more than what I wanted, so I came across the advertisement for the Altitude V, and they were within a price range that was alright with me and I chose to try them out. When I got them they were comfortable and rugged, but still casual. I could wear them for numerous reasons and I figured that they would last as long as I take care of them. They weren't too expensive and I needed some versatile footwear, so I was glad that I made the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough all around boot for all conditions I purchased a pair of the Altitude V boots specifically for a trek of Kilimanjaro. I put them to the test during my break in period: rain, snow, mud, creeks & hiking. They are comfortable and truly waterproof, probably the best waterproof boot I have ever owned period. I was extremely pleased with them so I used them for my climb of Kilimanjaro in Africa.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for a flatfoot! Got these in from a facebook contest and they have kept my feet warm and dry. Went on a weekend MTB ride in mud, trail, brush, gravel - no worries here! Have been wearing them from day to day. Most shoes are painful to break in, these boots seem per-broke-in. Put em on and go! For a flatfoot I wear custom orthotic insoles. Some shoes just don't have the room to fit these in. These boots? No problem. They went right in and my feet still feel great. Plenty of toe room. These are the footwear that Nike wishes they were.
