Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Boots Besides taking over a week and a half to get it mail order from Cali to Hawaii, the boots are great. I love Hi-Tec boots and this particular model isn't available locally. There was a model similar to it but when I wore it (I'm 10.5) at Sports Authority, felt tight. so I ordered these a half size up and I was spot-on on the size. You need to order these boots a half size bigger than your feet! Especially if you wear thick hiking socks like I do. Tried them on, walked around a little and it felt real good and comfy. The design is great, waterproof is a plus, and the outsoles are super. I love what I ordered!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just replaced a pair I had for 10 years. Hi-Tec has been making this same shoe for ages. Old pair was purchased in or around 2005. Wore holes in the soles and was getting wet socks during rain events. I was surprised to see these were still production. The uppers on the old ones are still in perfect shape except for a small cut which was not a manufacturing defect. Hope the new pair holds up as well as the retired pair did.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I've had hi tec hiking boots multiple times. They tend to be a plug and play boot. I mainly use as an every day wearing shoe. Mountain biking with bear claw peddles. At first they fit tight and wasn't sure if I could keep them. I decided to keep them and they fit better after my first wear. A few more times out in the brush doing work and now they fit so loose and my foot slops around. These boots for some reason don't have 2 hook eyes on each side at the top for lacing. Instead of the normal, hi tec went with one hook and the tongue falls open like a big scoop and catches every piece of dirt, leaf, grass, stick, bug coming your way. This single low lace hook really provides no support and essentially turns this into a low hiker instead of the expected mid hiker. The arches feel about a half inch too far to the rear and likely is what causes my foot to cramp up only after a few hours and my feet are still in pain hours after taking them off. I bought 4 pairs of different shoes at the same time and the pair that I thought would be the most dependable turned out to have issues and have shown to be poorly made already. The other shoes have been great and one pair extremely great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Survived the John Muir Trail! I love this boot! I am female, and bought this style to give myself more toe room. I was planning to hike the John Muir Trail, and tried several boot options from REI. I found them all to be hideously uncomfortable, and ended up wearing my Hi-Tecs for the entire, 200+ miles of the JMT. They were comfortable, stayed dry during rain and water crossings, and I never got a single blister.
