Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fatal Flaw; zero manufacturer support This could be a fine blender, but it has a fatal flaw. The carafe, instead of being all one piece, is two pieces joined together with screws. Bad idea. Food particles get trapped between the two parts of the carafe and rot. Yum. I contacted the manufacturer for assistance, hoping I could get a different style of carafe (or jug, as they call it in Britain). After exchanging many emails, during which they hinted the problem must be me, many times, their "solution" was that I disassemble the carafe by unscrewing the two parts from one another--each time I wanted to clean it--and then screw it back together. The company rep seemed surprised that I found this to be an unacceptable solution, particularly for a $400 blender. I asked if they could upgrade me to a model that did not have this problem. Alas, no. She was done with me now. Her subsequent response was that I return the blender to the retailer. "You contract of sale is with the retailer, not us," she told me. "You need to deal with them." I'll never buy a product from this company again. Too bad, because otherwise, it was a fine blender. Not Vita-mix fine, but quite good. Wow.
