Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not heat evenly The griddle plate is not very thick. The heating element forms an open rectangle. I tried cooking pancakes on it and every pancake that spanned the heating element had a stripe down the middle. The middle cooked great but the part of the pancake on either side of the element was not cooking. The middle of the griddle barely got warm, but near the plug was too hot. I think if the cooking plate were thicker it might hold the heat better, but as-is it was worthless to me. It may work better if you're cooking on a much higher temperature than I was using (325 - 350).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Uneven Heating Purchased for the size, but am returning because it does not heat evenly. I love to make pancakes. All of the cakes on the outer perimeter cook darker than the center. Will be returning. Still researching what to replace it with, but it won't be a Presto.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from half dark/half light pancakes frying bacon on this is "ok", but my pancakes turn out erratic! The hot spots cause burning areas while the uneven heat conduction undercooks. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this item!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good concept, but poor in implementation I bought this griddle for my husband because he loves to cook pancakes. I have to agree with the reviewers that gave this griddle a lower rating. While my husband and I both love the non-stick surface that makes cleaning easy, the griddle just doesn't heat evenly. Bacon isn't a problem to cook, but the uneven heating of pancakes is a bit disappointing; the whole reason we bought a griddle was to have an even heating surface to cook pancakes. We also found that to compensate a bit, we had to cook our pancakes at a higher temperature. If the recipe called for 350 degrees, we had to bump it up a bit. The cooking plate just may be too thin.
