My husband bought this beautiful mixer as a gift to me because I love to bake and there is no other mixer I would use as the KitchenAid is such great quality. As other reviewers have commented on,1) the bowl glass bowl is heavy. I worry that I will drop it while cleaning. 2) the beater does not scrap the bottom or sides of the bowl. I bought the flex edge beater hoping for a solution but alas, it does not fit due to the thickness of the glass bowl. I wish that I could return this and get a non-glass bowl. If someone at customer service has a solution, I'm all ears. PLEASE

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the candy apple red............... I got this for Christmas to replace my original Kitchenaid that I've had for years. The switch has worn out and the motor sounds funny. I have tried to use the new one twice with bad results. The whisk and the paddle are too far away from the bottom and the sides of the bowl to whip smaller amounts. I tried to make Italian buttercream frosting and the egg whites never reached the right peak. And tonight I tried to cream one cup of butter and the attachments just barely touched the butter. I had to get my old one back out and hold the switch on to make some yummy Baileys frosting. Is this model only for large batches??

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Like everyone else, disappointed This is my 3rd Kitchenaid in 25 years. My husband and kids got this for me for a birthday present as I have been wanting this one for about a year. I gave my previous 2 to family members and I wish to get them back! Just like all the other reviews, the mixing attachments don't reach to the bottom or sides of the bowl and I have yet to find a scraper attachment to work. Also, like other reviews, the motor doesn't come on clicking to the first setting, you have to go up and back into the speed. It's super noisy. It is so beautiful and I am so bummed it isn't as good as my 2 older, smaller ones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor service support I've had the pro 5 plus for 12 years. I used it quite a bit at first but for the last 5 years only infrequently. It's been sitting on my countertop the whole time with a cover on it. Went to use it last night and it failed to operate. Guide book did not offer much in the way of tips so I called customer service. I live in Sacramento and the closest repair is in San Jose. The other option is purchasing a ship kit for $45.00 to Greenville, Ohio plus a repair cost of between $45-$200. They could not offer any local repair places. This is really poor customer service. So my rating is for customer support.
