Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Only Sneakers I Will Wear! I bought a pair of the ALL BLACK color in June of 2016 while shopping for an entirely different brand, I got the LAST PAIR, they were my size and now they are the ONLY sneakers I want to wear; I wish I could buy a lifetime supply. Normally I don't buy shoes unless I *have* to.. I have sneakers from when I was 15 years old and I generally tend to lean toward mid-hightop athletic shoes (like Jordans or Air Force One's etc.) these were definitely out of my comfort zone. I wear these shoes with almost EVERYTHING including shorts- which I love cause I'm not the flipflop type. Since then they have endured my everyday life as a mother of 2, rainy nasty days (although sometimes they get damp inside), about 3 concerts (my friend actually ralphed all over them and they came clean) and TWO seasons of COACHING a Youth Baseball team. They haven't fallen apart on me, they haven't ripped, they dot even have much wear in the soles at all. The only reason I am re-ordering is because I recently bought a new car that has a 6 Speed Manual Transmission and even though I haven't noticed anything excessive- I'm afraid the clutch pedal is going to cause them to wear down faster than they would have originally. Since they're super hard to find anywhere in stores (including other retailers) and I'm TERRIFIED I won't find them again; I'm actually only writing a review because I am online ordering 4 pairs and saw way too many negative reviews. Kohls is the only retailer I can find that has these shoes and I would be saddened if they stopped carrying them because people complained that a canvas shoe ripped or frayed (which I honestly haven't had an issue with)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its a kids shoe for Petes sake All these reviews about how they fall apart and I have been buying them for myself because vans are super comfy and cute and I fall right at a 7,so its cheaper to buy boys, rather than womens. I have 6 pairs of vans and wear 2 of them to work almost daily, still holding up quit well, but I am an adult,If your buying them for a kid, they are always rough on their shoes and they are cavas, not leather, and they are glued, not sewn,,,,if you want a shoe that holds up,buy a tennis shoe, otherwise, for the price, these rock!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from rubber at the tip of shoe pealed back. I purchased a pair for my son, because looked great. After the first two weeks the rubber at the front top of shoe started to peal back. The shoe started to look a lot older than the other pairs he has had for a much longer time. I really like vans and have purchased them for my entire family through the years. Not sure why this one pair had really poor quality to it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible My kids have had many pairs of Vans, and all have lasted for a a couple of years (never with the black rubber soles). These, however, are VERY poorly constructed. My daughter needed all black shoes for work, so I got her these. Within 1 month, the rubber started to separate. I thought it was a fluke, so I bought her another pair. I also bought her brother a pair. Both pairs separated within 1 month. Save your money...
