Rated 1 out of 5 by from Had Potential But..... Wow, where do I begin... First of all due to arthritis in my hands and a torn tendon it's painful to carry a handbag by hand or on elbow. I decided to search for a nice backpack purse. I just bought a very nice black leather backpack purse and have used it several times now. It works great, so I decided it would be nice to have a white backpack for summer. Had the style I already have came in white I would have bought it but it doesn't. I found this white AmeriLeather Quince convertible backpack at Kohl's on-line . The style looked nice & not too large so I ordered it. When it arrived the first thing I noticed was the weight - I thought "Did they fill this with a couple of pounds of paper?".. After removing a small amount of paper stuffing it was was still amazingly heavy. Out of curiosity I decided to weigh it - I first weighed myself & then again but holding the backpack. This backpack weighs nearly 3 pounds with nothing in it! The heaviest part is the the large clip lock on the top of the backpack - which is a joke. By looking at it you would expect that it easily opens, only to find a pin which needs to be pulled in an awkward way and with a strong hand.. It took me at least 5 minutes to figure out how to open it and then struggle to actually open it - I gave up on trying to relock it. And remember, I have arthritis in my hands. This lock is so heavy that you could literally hurt someone with it - seriously. The large clip lock, 2 other smaller clips and all the rings on this backpack are terribly heavy and simply unnecessary. What a disappointment. Back to Kohl's it goes and my search for a nice, uncomplicated to open, summer backpack resumes...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Zipper didn't work I wish Kohl's would carry some leather backpacks in the store because it's hard to buy them online when you can touch them and test them out. This backpack - when I got it, the leather was nice and soft but I could not open the main zipper. I was happy to find a backpack that had a zipper but apparently nobody at the manufacturing company tested it before they send it out . Most of the backpacks simply have a draw string which isn't very secure .
