Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS BLENDER!!!!! This is my second KitchenAid blender. The first one lasted years and years giving wonderful service. These blenders are somewhat pricey for my budget but the first one was a gift and I just had no idea that the price reflected the quality. I purchased an inexpensive blender when the first one died. Wow! It was so bad that I was immediately sorry. The advertising was inaccurate at best and it could not even break up ice. So, I learned my lesson and went back to the KitchenAid Classic Blender. I LOVE this machine and it will no doubt outlive me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware of Ice Crushing We had an older blender that had not been used for a number of years. I pulled out the unit for the first time last night to crush some ice for my wife. On the very first use, the rotors on the base unit disintegrated, rendering the unit un-useable. I did call KitchenAid, but they said the unit cannot even be repaired. Hopefully, the design has been changed on their current units. I understand that the blender was a number of years old, but if we wanted one that would only last a couple of years, we could have purchased one that cost significantly less.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blender Base Roter Piece Fell Apart Agree with Bill from Rochester. Same thing happened here. Only we didn't put ice in the blender. I was blending herbs and oil for a dressing/sauce. The black roter on the base of the unit completely cracked into multiple pieces. When I lifted the blender off the base, there were tons of tiny pieces. Rotted? Seems wrong since the unit belonged to my father in law who seldom used it. Model No. KSP5WH4. I would have thought such a simple piece might be replaceable, but there are no parts for this on KitchenAid's site. And that doesn't bode well, since such a simple replacement part when the entire unit is in excellent shape, would really be a consumer friendly effort. Also, I can only imagine Rochester Bill and I are hardly the only two people this has happened to.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor durability I bought this blender and it stopped working when I was using it for the third time. Since I bought it in the US, but I live in Brazil, I took it to an authorized service here and they wanted to charge twice the price I paid for it when I bought in order to fix it. Not only I am frustrated because I expected a better quality / more durable product, I also expected that Kitchenaid would be able to offer a better service in my country as well. And even though I have other Kitchenaid appliances, I don't expect to replace this blender for another one of the same brand.
