Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wicked is my soul color. When I was born, Essie was created. Kidding. But it should have been because honestly, this color represents my entire life. Dark, dangerous and sexy. I always call it my soul color. Pretty much everyone that knows me knows I always have this color on. Sometimes, I try to switch it up and choose another color, but I never end up as happy as when I have wicked on. It goes with my skin color so perfectly, I should have been born with it on. This color brings out the fiery Leo in me. I love it more than I love the color black (that's saying A LOT). I love you Wicked, my soul sista!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite for pedicures and French manicures I bought this shade because I heard a lot of people raving about it, but I didn't expect to live this color as much as I do. It's prefect to do the tips on my French manicures, and it's my perfect pedicure polish. My toe nails have been living in this color for months, every time I go to paint my toes I say I'm going to use a different color, but I cave and put on Ballet Slippers. This polish has got me loving the way my feet look, and I take better care of my feet now. Ballets Slippers holds a special place in my heart now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed This was my first ever Essie polish purchase and maybe my expectations were too high. I will say that the color range (availability) is awesome and this particular shade of black is very deep. I loved that, however, it chipped right after drying on TWO fingers before I could even apply a top coat. I painted over it again and it chipped AGAIN before all the fingers dried. Unfortunately I will never buy this again. Chipping at two coats is quite a disappointment and for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult Formula, Great Color Ballet Slippers was one of the first Essie polishes I ever bought, and I bought it because of the amazing reviews I had seen for it. To be completely honest, the formula is VERY difficult to work with. It's a lovely sheer color, but you have to put 3 coats to make the streakiness not visible, and by that point, it is opaque. That being said, once you are used to the formula, it is far easier to work with. All of this said, once it is on the nails and opaque, the color is AMAZING! I have 100+ nail polishes, and yet this is my husband's absolute favorite nail polish on me. It makes my nails look clean and chic; it is so feminine, yet professional.
