Rated 4 out of 5 by from pretty happy pros: This machine is smooth and quiet. I like that it is adjustable and easy to store. The seat is comfortable. Cons: The heart rate monitor has not worked. It has been slow to get customer service on this issue. They usually take more than one e-mail over weeks to respond.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I enjoy it, but it's not for short people! I have had this machine for about 4 months now and am glad that I purchased it. I couldn't decide between a recumbent bike and a rower, so this was the perfect compromise. As others have said, it's not a perfect (or typical) rower. But it suits my needs since I don't go out rowing in an actual boat EVER. I just wanted to be able to get a full-body workout, and it serves that purpose nicely. I use the bike more than the rower, and I started on the lowest setting. I was incredibly out of shape and will tell you that the lowest setting BURNED my thighs (which was good). I still haven't made it past level 4, and I only do that for a short portion of my workout. One caveat: I can't imagine anyone under 5'3" being able to use the bike portion of this machine. I am 5'5", although I have a long torso and short-ish legs (my legs are probably more typical of someone 5'3"-5'4"), and at the closest seat setting, my feet JUST reach the bike pedals. (The rower foot holders are closer to the seat so you could maybe still use that portion.) My husband and I put it together in exactly 1 hour. It was quite easy, but I would suggest two people if possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE I bought this about a month ago and glad that I did. I am 63 yr old female with scoliosis. Noticed my body was really getting a pronounced "S" shape and my back hurt all the time. I'm working up to more than 5 mins at a time. I can fit it in whenever, because of breaking up the time in 5 minute intervals. It works every muscle in my body. I don't do the galley row like Ben Hur, but keep my back flat to the back of the seat so it doesn't work too hard. Eventually, I'll get my muscles strong enough to do it correctly. But, after I used it for 5 mins the FIRST time I noticed that I could stand up straighter, and the curl in my left hip was easing up. It's going to take time to get the scoliosis uncurled but the pain in my right hip is gone. It used to hurt just sitting on the sofa watching TV. This is a quiet machine. I was doing my 5 mins in a darkened room and when my husband walked in it nearly scared him to death to see me working out. He couldn't even hear me. This is good because my treadmill was loud and would wake him if he was asleep. I love it. Sturdy, quiet machine. I haven't used the bike part much yet, but I am 5'4' and I reach the pedals easy peasey. I love this machine and can see that it is built to last forever. My husband put it together. It took him a while and he actually used the instructions but it was doable. Buy this machine. You won't be sorry.
