Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not cook slow at all. I own the SCCPVC709-S 7qt. Programmable Stainless Crock Pot. It cooks waaaay too hot. Example: I put my chili ingredients on high and in about 1.5 hours it is bubbling and boiling. I turn it down to "keep warm" and it continues to boil. I take the lid off and it continues to boil. My husband ruined 2 roasts last week that were charred after being put on the "low" setting for the day. I guess we'll be replacing this with another brand. The size is great, but I can't leave it unattended so it really isn't very useful. My old crockpot (5 qt) I had for about 10-12 years was great, but not big enough for our large family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful I recently had to buy a new Crock Pot as my one of 20 years decided to die while cooking a roast. I went on line and was looking for something not to expensive and a bit funkier in color. I came across this little beauty, i loved the fact that it came in different colors and not just the traditional plain white or SS. I used it the day after I received it and i like the warm feature that my other one did not have, love love the color and it is a bit bigger than the old one that I had which is wonderful for cooking bigger meals ... would recommend to anyone looking for a not so expensive crock pot. Great find.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I'll Try Again I bought this before Christmas and used it to make candy on low setting; it worked fine. In March (I obviously don't use it often), I pulled it out to make steak and gravy. After 4 hrs on the high setting, the canned soup (for the gravy) hadn't heated enough to liquefy, and the meat hadn't cooked beyond being seared before putting in. I transferred it over to a regular pot and you could see the red juices coming out; it hadn't cooked at all. I'm saying "yes" I'd recommend to a friend, because I know things happen and this is likely a fluke and not "all Crock Pot brands are low quality." My last Crock Pot (brand) worked for 12 years and had just a fine hairline crack you could feel with your fingernail but couldn't really see, which is why I replaced it. I am reordering the same one and expect it to be fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheaply made and unreliable Because this is a brand name I assumed that I would be happy with my purchase, unfortunately I am not. The lid does not fit snugly on top of the crock, literally slides around. The description states it has a stainless steel finish, hard to believe since it is softer than an aluminum soda can and easily dents; I have many dents in mine and this is not from abuse. The controls have warm, low and high which I like but sometimes it gets confused and switches heat settings, Most often it sits in my cabinet and I only use it when someone is home because it's more trouble than it's worth.
