Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots to do I could not believe just how much there is to do in this jumbo box of crystals. Everything though was very well organised and labeled nicely. The directions were very easy to follow even for younger kids. This would be a good project for a group such as a classroom but it's to much for just 1 person. Despite following the directions exactly a few of the projects I did just did not turn out the way they were supposed to. Also I suggest buying your own saftey goggles because the lenses on these are so scratched and fogged up you can not see out of them. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun, but complicated. The whole kit was fun to do with the kids, but required to do so much and always involves the stove. Thats something my kids didnt like to do. When they involve themselves in a project like that, they like something simple and to do it themselves. The microwave was a good example and easy enough for them but was too hot at one point. Our "crystals" didnt exactly come out looking pretty or anything like what the pictures described or what other users of the product came out with. I would recommend this to families with older children and who have a little bit more patience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun and educational all in one. My family opened the box this weekend. I can say that just reading the box we just knew we were going to have alot of scientific fun. Honestly, we had a lil fun putting the items back int he box. It was a little messy and my son started getting bored and wanted to stop. So the box is currently sitting on the living room table. I really want to give this kit another shot. So we will be retrying this kit again to hopefully get better results. If I am able to return to update new results I will. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hours and days of fun activities! If you have a little scientific explorer like me than this kit by Alex brands Ultimate Crystal growing kit is by far the best. We are very pleased by the amount of different crystals you can grow with this kit, everything you will need to complete each crystal is included and the best is it comes with enough to complete each type of crystal several times. This really has earned the title of ultimate! the directions were easy for all of us to follow too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
